Mothers Day Tea

Yesterday I got to go to Alyssa's class for "Mothers Day Tea", it was the most adorable thing ever!
Each kid came out to the hall one by one with a flower and came and got their mom... I was biting my lip not to tear up too much and embarrass Alyssa, but it was too stinking cute..
There was a special spot set for each mom. The cute little cup has a tea bag in it, and the poem with her handprint once again made me tear right up. Then the little kids brought out fruit and cookies that they decorated for their mom, and a glass of ice tea. (if you click on this picture you can zoom in a read it)
They all waited over on the floor together to sing us some songs...This is Alyssa's little friend Braxton, according to Alyssa he chases her around all the time trying to kiss her...
Alyssa is the oldest of her class. We made the decision since she has a late birthday and is still very shy and reserved that an extra year would help her confidence down the road, plus it will help close the age gap with her siblings and I'm all for keeping her littler longer...Anyways the point of this is, you can see in this picture what the other younger kids think of her...They flock to her like she is their idol. I have been on field trips and in the class and all the little girls want to sit with Alyssa and hold her hand...Even the boys want to be near her...This makes me happy because I think this is exactly what she needs to blossom. I hope this will help to her become a leader and bring her out of her shell, as opposed to her being the youngest and possibly being looked over by the kids that are a full year older...I guess only time will tell if we made the right decision, but for now we really feel this is the best for her.

Notice little Braxton, as close as he can be...
...I think it must be love!
It was pretty high on my list of special moments in my life...
Thank you Alyssa for the Best (early) Mothers Day!

A nice little weekend

We had a lovely weekend...Friday we went out (I know, exciting!!) with my brother and Jane for some dinner and drinks, my parents babysat and we had a great time!

Saturday our new little niece Maja was Baptized, so we had a great celebration over at Kirk's sisters house. Kirk parents came back into town, they have been staying with her but are coming over here today to spend a few days...we of course in all our hastiness trying to not be late for the Baptism that landed right during nap time,  forgot our camera. I will have to get some from others to post, Maja looks so adorable!

Yesterday we spent lots of time outside...the babies had their first real trip to the park. They've been many times in the stroller but never been out to really play. They loved it!
Blake ate quite a few rocks, though he's spit them out on his own once he realized they didn't taste good...
 Alyssa always loves the park..
They are so much bigger than last year in the swings...(last year)

The cars were the best gift ever! Thanks Easter Bunny!
I can push them both myself and they much prefer it to the stoller...
The weather was decent enough that we played outside...So excited to have some nice weather to spend our days in

Easter Long weekend...

It was a busy long weekend. Kirk had off Friday - Monday and we were filled right up everyday with things going on.

Friday Alyssa and I spent most of the day out at an Easter Party. There were lots of little kids, some Easter Egg decorating, and Easter egg hunt, crafts and a Yummy lunch!
(pictures thanks to my friend Erika)

Friday night, us girls were in full Easter mode,
preparing Easter goodies and baskets and gift bags for the cousins.
Saturday my brother and I attended a funeral for a friend of my Grandparents, we remembered him with fond memories in our childhood....and we had a lot of family in town for it. It was nice to see everyone. Sadly though my Grandpa was missing as he had been admitted to the hospital the night before. He is still not doing that great, he has a long hospital stay ahead of him...Lots of love and prayers to Grandpa!

This picture sums up perfectly the relationship of Blake & Leah...She stormed his car and sat on him...and drove them around. The scene at our house usually looks like this!
Not a great quality picture but too cute to pass up...The girls were waiting for Auntie Ronda, Uncle Tom and her cousins to arrive for an informal Easter dinner of Hamburgers...
Uncle Tom patiently trying to help the babies color...Yeah they just don't get it yet...they still just eat the crayons...
Cousins Marko & Mate...
...and me with Baby Maja! Sooo sweet!
Silly girl...
Saturday night before bed, Alyssa left out a drawing, a carrot, some Oatmeal and some water for the Easter bunny...She had all their Easter buckets lined up and some eggs for Easter Bunny to fill and hide..
He did come and hide eggs all over our house, and left Alyssa a Rapunzel Barbie and Movie, a new outfit and a Chocolate bunny...
The babies got these awesome new green cars for outside...
Blake was obsessed with honking the horn...and even though there was 2 identical cars, they fought over 1 car all day...
Finding the hidden eggs!

Everyone got new Sunglasses, they were a big hit...Alyssa even exclaimed "Look Mom, Easter Bunny got these at Childrens Place", as she recognized the blue logo...Smarty Pants...

Blake was particularily obsessed and walked around all day with them on...
He wouldn't take them off for breakfast, but did allow them to be on top of his head...
They had fun playing with all the eggs and baskets and easter grass...
Leah kept playing peak with the baskets...
That game never gets old when you are 1!
It was actually a pretty nice day, so we went for a nice walk...Alyssa was finally able to take her bike from Santa outside...
...and the babies loved their new ride too!
We went for Sunday Dinner at my parents place and had a lovely dinner with them and Kris, Jane, Sophie & Gabe...
The yearly timed photo on the banister...Looks pretty good!
Its always a bit crazy, but we always have fun...
and the Turkey & Ham Dinner was delicious!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend too!!

Happy Easter!!

Just popping on to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I will be back with Easter pictures soon...

In the meantime, I'd like to send prayers out to my Grandpa who is in the hospital. He was admitted yesterday with uncontrollable hip pain, it has since been discovered that he has a blood infection, a partially collapsed lung, Pnemonia, something with his heart valve and will need a hip replacement...What a tough man to be dealing with all of this and yet never once complaining...Sending him speedy recovery thoughts!

I'm cool!

I did it!!! I joined the current decade!!
I have been a little behind the times since becoming a Stay at home mom 4.5 years ago, but today I am the annoyed proud new owner of an iPhone...Seeing that my husband is a technology genius, you'd think I'd be a little more in the loop...for the past several years I have been protesting that I do not need to be connected  to check Facebook or my emails every minute of the day...I get nothing that is seriously important and there is nothing more annoying than being out for dinner with my darling hubby (or friends for that matter) and the constant need to check his phone every time it beeps...sometimes I challenge Kirk to wait just 5 minutes and see if the world does infact carry on...It usually does!
The only reason I got the iPhone was because Kirk got the new iPhone 4 and well his old one was just sitting there...kinda seemed like a waste. My old phone flipped open and inside there were buttons that you could push to dial a phone #, sounds ancient right! Well it worked perfectly for this old cat...I suppose it will take some getting used to and I'm sure in no time I'll join the millions of smart phone addicts and be consumed by the beep...
