Ever since the babies have been born, the Dr's have referred to them by their corrected age based off of their due date of January 10th...FINALLY today we can celebrate their 1 year corrected age...These little Monkies are busy little people, cruising everywhere!
Leah's vocabulary still impresses me, for a corrected age of 1 year old today...she has many clear words she says on a regular basis. She does baby sign language when she's hungry and thirsty...Everytime she see's Oscar now or hears him bark she does an imitated kind of bark which sound more like Fffffff...She is an absolute ham at every opportunity and wrinkles up her nose and gives you a kind of cheeky smile. She is Super flexible and the Dr's at her latest Peri-Natal Follow up appointment comments that she has very loose joints and to keep an eye on her, in particular her knees...everyone in my family finds this rather amusing since almost all the siblings on my dad's side have had knee surgery due to dislocations, even my brother...looks like she has inherited that gene! Her new 'trick' is to stick her feet up on the tray of her high chair as she eats, and she know's she's funny too!! This little girl has quite the Spirited little personality...She is going to run this house in no time! We all know it too! She is a silly girl, but also has quite the temper...Plus she pinches, pulls hair, hits...Yikes! We are working on being gentle. I hope she turns back into that once claimed Angel we called her...Boy did she have us fooled!!
"The Boss" pulling her big sisters hair, this happens all day long...
Blake is a gentle little guy who likes back scratches, snuggles, kisses...he will touch your face ever so gentle...he is going to be sensitive for sure, he cries if Leah merely grazes his leg or gets something taken away from him or if he wants to be picked up...He cries almost everytime he gets his bum changed, when he wakes up from his naps and almost every mealtime. The rest of the time he is the smilest, happy little guy, his whole face lights up when he smiles! I love the way he points his little finger like ET to show you things...he talks gibberish and his favorite thing to say is "Gunga", no idea what it means but he says it often, and if you say it back to him he busts up laughing. His new trick this week is Saying 'Uh-oh'
Our smiley guy!
Over the holidays, we cleared some junk out of basement and set up a new little safe place for the babies to play. On cold winters days and weeks its nice to have a different place to go to break up the day...
They love it down there...
I hate calling it the Cage, but thats what we call it...Alyssa will say comments about the babies being in a cage...hope she never brings that one up at preschool! I can see it now, yeah my mom leaves the babies in a cage..haha!
Alyssa has the little fort all set up with blankets and pillows to play camping in, and the little ones love rolling around in there...I have no pictures of Alyssa, she doesn't like having her picture taken most days...
Watching Daddy and Alyssa shovelling the snow...
The Bucket snowman...the snow wasn't sticky enough for a good one, so a bucket snowman had to do!
Kirk has been away in Vegas the past 5 (looonnnggg) days for work (ha! not much work got done, but we'll do another post on his trip!), Alyssa has been an absolute angel, what a sweet little 4 year old...Sure she has her moments...heck I have my moments, but in general she has been a very well behaved nice little girl. She has been so helpful while Kirk has been away, she's taken on the duty as Dustbuster-er, she's helped me tidy up...but mostly she's been a good girl, no whining and she listened perfectly...I think she knows happy mommy = happy kids ;) She's never been one to sleep in our bed, but she is now at that age where I wanted her to sleep with me, so she was my little companion sleeping in daddy's spot...infact she's sleeping in there now waiting for him to come home, she can sleep between us tonight since she missed him so much...
HAHAHA "the cage". Love it. I LOVE looking at these pictures, they are all so adorable. I always walk away from your blog with a giant smile <3
