Images of Hope is an annual volunteer-coordinated fundraising event & exhibition featuring photographs and stories about In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) conceived children and their families. It is a fund that raises money for those who can't afford to do fertility treatments.
It is very near and dear to our hearts so everyone can have a chance to have their own Blake and Leah. I have been on the committee the past 2 years, and work on the Images and Stories portion.

Images of Hope 2011 is on Friday March 11th, at Hotel Arts.
To date the fund has raised over $500,000 and their are 29 babies born as a direct result of money raised by Generations of hope.
This year our little family is one of the families featured at the event...we have a lovely picture that will be blown up on canvas and displayed with our story...In celebration of our Little Miracles, I would like to Invite our Family & Friends to the event and help us to raise money, so less fortunate families have a chance to make their own dreams come true.
We also want to bring awareness to the importance of why fertility treaments should be covered under provincial health care. Last year one of our featured families was a young woman and her husband who recently faced breast cancer and underwent the IVF process before starting chemotherapy and froze her embryos, in hopes of one day being able to have her own children. Imagine having to deal with the demands of In-vitro and the cost ($12,000-$15,000) that is not currently covered by provincial or private health insurance all while dealing with a new Breast Cancer diagnosis. I am happy to report that she is now pregnant and waiting for her little Miracle to arrive!
While we do have some amazing live auction items, we are short on items this year for our Silent Auction...If you would be interested in making a donation we would be very greatful...Hockey tickets, Gift cards, nothing is too small, we can always couple smaller items with others to make up baskets etc... Cash donations can also be made...If any one is interested PLEASE let me know and I'd be happy to pick up donated items...
